Hang On- ADSR #4

Gee- I racked my brain to come up with some lofty goals, but this is the only one I could come up with. Then after I thought of the goal....the paper just came to me. (I didn't have to wait to take picts at the Stock Show in Jan.) Kris' Rodeo Days was the perfect paper. This is exactly what I feel like most days! LOL! I added the warm ribbons from Kris pack also.

Stayin' Cool - Wow

Here is my Wow them with Words layout #4:

I don't know if anybody has noticed that I seem to favour the lower right corner of a page when making a layout - but this one is the other way round. My daughters dared me to swap everything around once I had finished the page! It's okay - but I still like my way better!!! LOL!

Here the next LO for the race..

Credits Template by Kimb's designs; Papers by Anna Benjamin/ Paper moons 'prince of funk'; Frame, flower 'make a splash' and alpha G by Kris Myers ; Songbird alpha 'stick 'em up'; Font CK Newsclip; photo by dh; poem by Anna Copeland. Lost focus of once thought to be life's goal now balances on daily acts of others' actions. The purpose once prevalent now lingers in doubt, uncertain of my role and where it will lead. This unsettled plan weak once a strong force drove with passion and fearlessness. Worn down by time energy level low held back from truth now turned stagnate. Pulled away from negative remember the plan put blinders up block out the bad. One track mind in focus this goal straight ahead push obstacles away rejuvenate, rebuild, stronger. Visualize the purpose vivid plan now in action strength to show move forward.

Dine at the Museum

Monday, July 16, 2007

This is my first entry in the race. In college my room mate had this print and I loved it. I have always wanted to see Jim Dine's work in person. I love hearts. Some of his hearts look happy and some look sad. It is amazing that he can make them have so many differing looks. I used Weeds and Wildflowers "Celebrating Colors (all colors)" and Kris Myers fabulous "Crayon Scribbles", "Scribbles" and "Swirl Doodles."

Amazing artist-Renoir

This is my first LO for the amazing race.

Journaling I started cross stitching while in nursing school, I gradually did bigger and bigger projects. When I started 'On The Terrace' by Renoir, it was my biggest undertaking; It took me about 5 years to finish. When I found the pattern, I became inspired by his paintings and since longed to see an exhibit of his beautiful work. I am currently working on 'Picking Flowers'

My Sons Birthday is today!

Friday, July 13, 2007

My son Sage's birthday is today! and you have to read this! Lol.

Isnt he handsome?! I love my lil' boy so much! And today he was so awesome! On his best behavior all day! He made for a perfect birthday! I hope all weekend remains this way! His best friends birthday party is tomorrow and his on Sunday! A Cars birthday party. Wait til you see the cake I'm going to make! That is my challenge every year. To make an awesome cake! This year he requested some homemade Strawberry mint ice cream! How do they remember these things at only 6? Well, its in the fridge getting ready for final stages of Ice cream. (thank you mom for the ice cream maker!) Btw, most of my cakes have been ice cream cakes. None of us our real fans of regular cake. Lol. I think its because it gets so hot in July every year. I just started making my own the year before last. and last year I started making my own ice cream for them as well. I know I'm sick to want to do it. But I love it. I wish you could taste it! They are to die for. Last year was blueberry cheesecake and Strawberry mint!

Jump

Thursday, July 12, 2007

My niece has autism. So, we were amazed when she cam up to grandaddy and raised her hands. He picked her up and she gave him a kiss. Then she had him put her down. She grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the little trampoline. She wanted him to help her jump high.
I used the "Hot Summers Day" kit.

Crocodile Or Alligator

My son Sage was pestering me about when we were going to see the Crocodiles, when we were at the zoo the other day. He is a huge fan of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. So to me it was no surprise. Well I couldnt resist scrapping about it. Lol. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm pretty sure that this was an alligator not a crocodile, but shhhh....we wont tell him. Lol

Credits: Everything by me. Everything shown is future kits you will probably be seeing in the store this week. :o) That is if you want them? Lol. I'm such a tease huh?

Bright Eyes

Sam was a tiny preemie. He was 3 mos. early. Even though he looks like a newborn in this pict, he is really 5 mos old. Even though the drs told me he was going to have problems, I always knew he would be okay because he had such bright eyes. I made this kit using "My Lil Boy" kit.

Here is my 2nd layout using Kris's kits. This one is called Bold and Cheery and it is bold and cheery. The pic is of my greatest friend, Anne, who for some reason has always been called Annabelle by me! She has never complained but takes it in her stride. As the journalling says we haven't seen each other for many years, but we talk on the phone often - Annabelle, if you ever get to see this, know that you are loved and missed!

WOW Jaye is a Beach Bum

I had fun making this LO of my little cousin Jaye. She truly is a beach bum even at the age of less than one. I used Kris' "Dad's Day", "Girls' Night Out", "Bold and Cheery" and "American Beauty. I put them together with Kris' fantastic Paisley Template. As a matter of fact, I liked it so much, I used it twice. These little templates rock!!!!

I did a layout!!!!

Amazing! I did a layout. can you believe it? For me these days, it takes putting a lot of things on the back burner to get to do a layout. Or cutting into sleep time. Ahhhh who needs sleep anyway. Lol. So here it is. My layout!

Credits: Paper from Rodeo Days & elements from a soon to be kit called Rodeo Days Element Pack. :o)

The layout reads "I often forget what a small world we live in really. This 21 year old I’ve been watching for years at the St Paul Rodeo, & he would ride bulls and then jump on his horse & work as a Dodge Pickup man. The announcer would always carry on about how young, cute, & single he was. Well it seems this cute young face has gotten famous on us. Believe it or not, but this is CMT’s official winner of the “Top American Cowboy”. He just took himself $50k home. Can you believe it? I’ve watched this kid grow up in this rodeo. He’s a local cowboy, but in these parts there’s cowboys everywhere. He’s also none other than the brother to the famous Bull Rider Ross Coleman. And son to the famous cowboy Steve Coleman. I guess its running in his veins huh? "

So what do you think? I would love to hear what you have to say. Its not to often I do layouts anymore. So I would love to hear your comments. Kris
