I got another layout...:o) I am loving scrapbooking right now...My goal is to catch up on some of my pics this year. Here's to hoping that I can get caught up. Lol.
This year for Memorial Weekend Sage & his
cub scout troop went up to Willamette National
Cemetery and planted flags at each headstone.
This was our first year, so I was amazed at all of
the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Junior Marines
that were there. There were thousands of kids
there to participate in this event.
What was really beautiful was the ceremony
before we went out and planted flags. There were
speeches by some of the leaders, and military
officials, and an explanation of why we do this and the proper way to plant a flag. Also, there was a helicopter flyover by the Coast Guard and a gun salute. A very emotional time for me and my family.

What a great way to make Memorial Day meaningful - this is so special. It has a real feeling of reverence.
