My baby brother, age 19, just left this week to the the LDS Missionary Training Center. After a few weeks learning a new language and getting some training, he will be off to serve the people in Ecuador for 2 years. As the baby of the family and the only son, he and mom have a special bond and this sweet story and special meaning to both of them.

This beautiful man is named Ridge, and is currently located in Lawrence, Kansas. We were going to receive him this week, but one of the pouches in the kennel acquired Parvo. So the whole kennel is on lock down for 2 weeks. If all goes well, and he doesnt get sick, he will be ours the first part of June. I'm going crazy with impatience, we've been waiting a long time for this dog. :o)

Credits: of course everything is by me. Lol. This is from a new kit that will be released beginning to end of June. Its part of a project that I made for Scrap Delicious. I will be adding more to it, and then its yours!

When I was in college, one of my classes ended up taking me down a path of interviewing and recording the history of quilting in our family. Relatives came from far and wide and shared wonderful stories with each other. It was such a memorable time! That generated an interest inside me to try to learn the art, and the relatives were thrilled that someone from my generation took the baton. Although I rarely have time for it at the moment, so many of my favorite memories are quilting (and shopping for fabric!) with my mother. These pics are of her at the quilting machine and both of us in front of the one of the quilts we made together.

Journaling: Quilts are a strong part of our family heritage, tracing back to at least my great-grandmothers. I feel so fortunate to have a beautiful, tangible display of love to curl up in on a cold day. And it's something we both love to do!

This year for Memorial Weekend Sage & his
cub scout troop went up to Willamette National
Cemetery and planted flags at each headstone.
This was our first year, so I was amazed at all of
the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Junior Marines
that were there. There were thousands of kids
there to participate in this event.
What was really beautiful was the ceremony
before we went out and planted flags. There were
speeches by some of the leaders, and military
officials, and an explanation of why we do this and the proper way to plant a flag. Also, there was a helicopter flyover by the Coast Guard and a gun salute. A very emotional time for me and my family.

Ok, so I think I might have my desktop stablized...not sure yet...I was installing programs last night, one of which was Photoshop. I was able to make this layout, but now its not working again. Lol.....sigh...oh well...I will get back to work on again, when I can. I just thought I would share this with you, while i was able to do something.
